Brodie’s Story
I started Boomslang Knife Company out of a small backyard workshop in Kampala, Uganda, inspired by the craft of making tools that bring people together around food. When I relocated to Lusaka, Zambia, I carried that same spirit with me, and for the past three years I’ve been building Boomslang alongside a small team of three dedicated makers.
Knifemaking, for me, is about more than steel and wood—it’s about creating something that feels personal, durable, and meaningful. I work with locally sourced Zambian hardwoods and pair them with high‑quality steel, ensuring every piece reflects both the strength of the materials and the care that goes into shaping them.
Originally from New Zealand, with family ties stretching to California, I draw inspiration from diverse places and experiences. But Zambia is where Boomslang has found its home, and where I’ve committed to building a brand rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship, and community.
